Temperature in Earth's core and mantle is over 80% generated by radioactive decay, ie. nuclear fission. Our nuclear reactors provide power essentially by heating water enough to produce steam which drives turbines. Question: why do we need separate nuclear reactors when we have a huge one under us? Just bore a hole deep enough to reach hot rock and then pump water in and out, and then drive the turbines. It's the ultimate source of sustainable energy because it will take longer for Sun to exit the main sequence than for the Earth to cool down, so it will literally continue for the duration of life on Earth.

I took this one yesterday with just E-PL1 and its kit lens. It's amazing what this little thing can do. Of course I had to run it through NeatImage because the noise at ISO 1600 is everything but subtle.

I think this is true:
"An October 17 editorial published by state-run news agency Xinhua called Obama and Romneys China-bashing "a ritual" that "leaves Americans with the impression that China is responsible for their countrys decline.""

OK, they finally made the new iMac, so will I buy it? Well, this "let's make it even thinner" mania concerns me, because usually the thinner stuff is, the more heat related problems it has. Yes, the electronics inside are good and the screen is great. However, I do need the CD/DVD burner so not having it is just bad. Also, having a stronger computer with super-tiny airflow ducts that are easily clogged by all the dust that I have here... I'm not really happy with that to be honest, so I think I'll just stick with Apple's laptops and keep a well cooled gaming case for the desktop PC with all the storage inside.
